El Ayuntamiento de la localidad agradece la sensibilidad e implicación de Torrecid con la protección, conservación y promoción del patrimonio histórico de l’Alcora
Torrecid, through its Foundation, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Alcora City Council in which it allocates 90,000 euros to support the rehabilitation and enhancement project of the founding area of the Royal Earthenware and Porcelain Factory of the Count of Aranda. The mayor of the town, Samuel Falomir, Federico Michavila, president of Torrecid, Ana Huguet, councilor for Culture and Heritage, Miguel Ángel Michavila, CEO of Al-Farben attended this event, held in the municipality of l’Alcora. (Torrecid Group) and Eladi Grangel, director of the Museu de Ceràmica de l’Alcora.
In 2017, the City Council acquired the land of the Royal Factory with the aim of rehabilitating it and promoting its value to put it at the service of the citizenry. For this, preventive work was carried out in the building and the planning of interventions, management and future uses began.
In 2020, the first major work was carried out, which consisted of the rehabilitation of the Arab ovens of the Royal Factory (dated around 1805) and the annex building, as well as the change of roof of the Azulejos BIC, SL warehouse.
In 2021, the project for the rehabilitation and enhancement of the foundational area, within the 1.5% Cultural Program, was presented to the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda. A project valued at 1.9 million euros of which the Ministry will contribute 1.3 million euros. As planned, the works will start in July 2022.
Samuel Falomir, mayor of the town, ended the event by thanking Torrecid’s sensitivity and involvement with the protection, conservation and promotion of the historical heritage of l’Alcora and, especially, with the recovery of the Royal Factory, “a project of great importance for the Alcorinos and Alcorinas and for the entire province ”and highlighting that the Royal Factory, founded in 1727 by the Count of Aranda,“ became a benchmark, an innovative, transformative and thriving company, as it is also in Torrecid today ”.
